One-offs
A steel footbridge across a lake in landscaped grounds. A gym rig with punchbags hanging off it, welded into a steel framed building. Stainless counters and a mirror frame made for a salon. A yellow steel box bolted to a brick wall.
None of those came off a shelf, because none of them exist to buy.
Repairs
Plenty of it is a lot smaller than that. A gate that has dropped on its hinges. A bracket that has sheared. An exhaust that can be welded instead of replaced. A locking wheel nut with no key left for it.
If it is metal and it is broken, it is worth a phone call before you order a new one.
